Client Intake Support Worker

  • Small Not for Profit Organisation offering counselling services to those affected by adoption and separation from family.

  • Varied role with flexible working hours (28 hours per week). Generous salary sacrificing options with an additional two weeks leave over Christmas/New Year shutdown

  • Permanent part time position based in Maylands


    The Role

  • Initial contact with clients and intake.

  • Assessing the presenting nature and extent of problems.

  • Referring clients to relevant agencies who can provide more appropriate and additional support and liaise with counselling staff.

  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients through the arcs programme process.

  • Communicating with professionals e.g. lawyers, school counsellors, private psychologists and social workers of the agencies programmes and referral process.

  • Schedule appointments for clients, liaise with counsellors on client’s needs.

  • Contribute towards raising community awareness of arcs services on the issues of adoption and separation from family through social media and community events.

  • Assist counsellors in preparing submissions for funding/resources and mandatory reporting to Government bodies.

  • Collecting client data and maintaining data systems for reporting and research purposes.

  • Developing and updating resources for clients and professionals, education and information needs.

What You Need

  • Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma or minimum [3] years' experience in a client support and administration role.

  • Excellent administrative and organisational/time management skills

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a capacity to interact with distressed clients in a professional and sensitive manner

  • A pleasant and professional telephone manner

  • Excellent word processing and data entry skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities with a flexible, adaptable approach

  • Experience in working within a small professional team

  • Eligible for Police and Working With Children clearances

  • An interest in Social media
