About the opportunity
[email protected] is a partnership between Uniting (as lead) and Launch Housing. It is an early intervention, holistic, multi-disciplinary program that aims to prevent women and children becoming homeless because of their experience of family violence. The position will predominantly undertake the case management of women and children that have or are experiencing family violence and will work closely with the housing worker, financial counsellor and men’s worker (if appropriate). There may also be the opportunity to undertake co-work with internal programs and deliver group-work activities.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Minimum tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or a related discipline is essential
- Demonstrated skills and experience in working with disempowered and vulnerable people, including;
- capacity to engage clients and establish effective helping relationships,
- undertake strength-based assessments, needs analysis, development of intervention plans
- work with clients to bring about change
- Demonstrated experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities
- Understanding the issues involved in casework with women and children experiencing Family Violence
- Knowledge and experience of a range of relevant intervention strategies and frameworks including;
- young people’s developmental needs,
- parent skill development,
- working with diversity,
- drug and alcohol recovery,
- mental health issues,
- crisis planning and family and broader systems
