A position has become available for a Practice Nurse at the headspace service located in Greensborough. The service aims to promote and facilitate improvements in mental health; social wellbeing and economic participation of young people aged 12-25 residing in Greensborough and the North Eastern Region of Melbourne.

In this role you will:

  • work part time, 15.2 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2019

  • provide person centred physical and emotional care and treatment to young people

  • support the GP’s working at the service for the provision of sexual, reproductive health and immunisations as well as general health

  • be responsible for the day to day running of the clinic, including stock ordering within budget allocations

  • contribute to holistic care plans to ensure that primary health is an integrated aspect of care

  • provide complementary health promotion and health education activities for young people in the community

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • be a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife; Division 1 (General) Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA)

  • be a Current Victorian Accredited Nurse Immuniser, recognised by the Chief Health Officer

  • hold a current Certificate in Emergency Management following Adverse Reactions to Vaccine

  • have completed a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health (Nursing) or similar

  • ideally have demonstrated experience working with youths
