RTO Operations Manager

About the business

VICSEG New Futures is a not for profit community organisation that has provided support to recently settled migrant and refugee families for almost 40 years.

VICSEG New Futures' registered training organisation, New Futures Training, was established in 2002 and provides vocational training and pathways to employment in the human services and care sectors.

New Futures Training specialises in training people from refugee backgrounds, particularly women, including those with limited experience of formal education. Up to 3000 students train with New Futures Training over a year.

About the role

You will be required to;

  • Oversee the operations of New Futures Training across all campuses to ensure that training delivery meets the AQTF and HESG compliance requirements.

  • Conduct an ongoing review of operations and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to streamline the delivery of services.

  • Lead and manage the team to achieve exceptional student experiences.

  • Identify new training opportunities and coordinate their approach.

  • Assist in the development of a strategic plan and business development model for the RTO and provide leadership.

  • Ensure the brand and communication style is consistent across the organisation.

  • Encourage and promote diversity in the workplace.

Skills and experience


  • Number of years experience at Management level in the VET sector.

  • Proven computer skills.

  • Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.


  • Relevant tertiary qualification.

  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment with understanding and empathy regarding issues faced by migrants, refugees and others from non-English speaking backgrounds.
