Salary: 2010 SCHCADS Level 5 PP2- 6 PP1 ($70933 - 75,424) depending on skills and experience

Full time position funded to September 2020, located in Shepparton. (.7 to 1.0 EFT negotiable.)  Job share possible

The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District Inc. is a peak body whose mission is to promote and represent the social, cultural and economic well-being of ethnic communities in the Goulburn Valley Region through the provision of quality and innovative settlement, refugee support, community development and information and advocacy services.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner to co-ordinate the implementation of the Safer and Stronger Communities Pilot for the Goulburn Region. This is a new Pilot, funded by the Victorian Government, aims to develop new approaches with migrant and refugee communities so that we can better understand what works to prevent violence in culturally diverse communities.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. social work, community development etc)

  • A comprehensive understanding of the dynamics and impact of family violence and a sound understanding of family violence prevention

  • Demonstrated commitment to and an understanding of women’s rights and family violence issues

  • Significant experience engaging with migrant and refugee communities

  • Experience in the delivery of service improvement or workplace change processes

  • Strong community engagement, empowerment and capacity building skills

  • Experience in co-designing and delivering creative programs with diverse communities

  • Highly developed project management skills and experience and

  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills
