Campaigns Coordinator – Re-advertised

PACFA, the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, is the leading peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession in Australia and a professional association for practitioners, educators, students and related professionals.

PACFA is recruiting a part-time Campaigns Coordinator to work closely with the CEO to implement a range of campaigns aimed at increasing professional recognition and employment opportunities for counsellors and psychotherapists. PACFA is in a phase of significant growth and development. This newly created position will support the continuing growth of the organisation nationally.

Reporting to the CEO, the Campaign Coordinator will plan and implement strategies to lobby federal and state governments, government agencies, private health funds and employers for recognition of PACFA-registered practitioners. The Campaigns Coordinator will assist with preparation of submissions to government, campaign materials and lobbying briefs, and will build strategic relationships with key stakeholders.

Applicants will have relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. communications, politics, social science, public policy or health promotion), knowledge and experience of political processes and experience in a campaigning or lobbying role. Applicants will have high-level written and verbal communication skills, for example, experience writing campaign materials and/or government submissions, public speaking or media communications experience, and high-level relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

A salary in the range $74,000 to $78,000 (pro-rata for part-time) will be negotiated, depending on experience. As a non-profit organisation, PACFA can offer generous salary packaging arrangements. This is a permanent role, subject to availability of ongoing funding.  The position involves some interstate travel.
